Tarique Rahman seeks prayers to build Bangladesh of people's hope
  • Khaleda Zia returned home

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, after the political transformation that took place in Bangladesh on August 5, we will be able to build a Bangladesh of the hope of the mass people. This country was liberated by the people of Bangladesh in 1971; the freedom fighters fought for our independence. I have a request for everyone: we will also include those who gave their lives to make the country independent in our prayers today. Democracy is the hope of the people of Bangladesh. During the dictatorship that has been overthrown in the 90s and later, leaders and activists of other opposition parties, including the BNP, have been martyred or disappeared in the past fifteen years. Apart from this, many people have been tortured and abused in various ways. Apart from this, many people have been martyred during the movement in July and August, regardless of party affiliation. The overthrown dictatorship killed almost two thousand people. Thirty thousand people were injured and affected. Let us pray for all of them today, regardless of party affiliation. May Allah grant us the hope with which the people of the country look towards the future to see their country in a better place, so that each of us who are alive can contribute to building that hoped-for Bangladesh.I seek the prayers of the for Khaleda Zia's speedy recovery. She said these things at the end of the prayer and Milad Mahfil organized on the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko at the Brick Lane Mosque in East London on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rahman drove his own car from the London Clinic in Central London to his Kingston home with his mother, Khaleda Zia. Dr. Zubaida Rahman and other family members accompanied him.
