The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, H.E. Ali Th A Q Hamadah, hosted a grand reception in Dhaka to mark the 64th National Day and the 34th Liberation Day of Kuwait. Asif Nazrul, Adviser for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs of the interim Government of Bangladesh, graced the event as the chief guest on February 25.
In his speech, Ambassador Hamadah highlighted the enduring friendship between Kuwait and Bangladesh, emphasizing their deep-rooted diplomatic and economic ties since the early 1970s. He underscored Kuwait’s contribution of $650 million through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to finance key projects in Bangladesh, covering energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
The ambassador praised the role of over 280,000 Bangladeshi expatriates in Kuwait and the commendable contributions of Bangladeshi defense personnel in strengthening bilateral cooperation. He reiterated Kuwait's commitment to furthering trade, investment, and people-to-people connections between the two nations.
The event was attended by high-ranking military officials, diplomats, heads of foreign missions, senior government officials, civil society representatives, and leading media personalities, reflecting the strong and multifaceted relationship between the two countries.
