BNP Reverses Stance on Banners in London; Joint Press Briefing to Follow Yunus-Rahman Meeting

In a significant shift, the UK chapter of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has reversed its earlier decision regarding banners and placards for today's gathering. Initially, following a meeting on Tuesday night, the UK BNP had decided that activists would not carry any banners or placards outside the venue on Friday.

However, a last-minute change of heart on Thursday led to the decision being overturned. Work immediately began on designing and producing banners and placards. A vice-president of the UK BNP confirmed that the decision to allow activists to bring banners and festoons to today's rally had been changed.

Despite the meeting between the two prominent figures, it's notable that none of the BNP's banners or festoons feature the name or image of Dr. Muhammad Yunus. When asked about the absence of Dr. Yunus's name or picture on the newly prepared banners and festoons, the vice-president stated, "We, the BNP activists, are going to welcome our leader."

Meanwhile, following the meeting between Professor Yunus and Tarique Rahman, a joint press briefing will be held at the same venue. The press briefing will be conducted jointly by the Chief Advisor's press wing and BNP leaders. This development was confirmed last night by Akbar Hossain, Press Minister at the Bangladesh High Commission in London.

The highly anticipated meeting scheduled to begin today, Friday, June 13, at 9:00 AM local time in London, at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, Central London.
