Quran Sculpture Unveiled in Habiganj School

Habiganj, Bangladesh – In a pioneering initiative for Chunarughat, Habiganj, Kalishir Government Primary School in Ahmedabad Union No. 2 has become home to the upazila's first-ever sculpture of the Holy Quran. Unveiled in 2017, this unique artwork, inspired by similar Quranic sculptures seen across Bangladesh and internationally, has drawn significant attention and praise from the community.

The sculpture, which elegantly replicates the form of the Holy Quran, stands as a testament to the verse, "Read in the name of your Lord who created you - acquiring knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim man and woman." Its presence has transformed the school premises into a focal point for "Al-Quran" enthusiasts, with locals and visitors from afar flocking daily to witness the artistic creation. Many have affectionately likened its profound impact to the "Taj Mahal of the hearts of Quran lovers."

The project was spearheaded by a collaborative effort, initially funded by the school authorities themselves, demonstrating their deep sense of religious responsibility. Later, the then-Union Parishad (UP) Chairman, Alhaj Abed Hasnat Chowdhury Sanju, extended crucial support, ensuring the completion of this aesthetic endeavor. Key figures in this initiative included the school's headmaster, Md. Matiur Rahman, and the former president of the School Management Committee (SMC) of Kalishir School.

School authorities emphasized that the sculpture was created from a profound sense of duty as Muslims. They highlighted that the Quran sculpture serves as a powerful example of how beautiful art can be created without conflicting with the faith of the majority. It is hoped that this remarkable artwork will foster Islamic values, inspire the creation of a crime-free society, and encourage the development of a beautiful environment for all.

This groundbreaking artistic expression has garnered widespread acclaim from all sectors of society, including religious scholars and social leaders, who have commended the school authorities for their visionary undertaking.
