In a significant development for the digital transformation of religious travel, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that its official digital platform, the Nusuk app, has reached a new milestone of over 30 million downloads. This figure represents a remarkable 150 per cent increase in downloads in just one year, up from 12 million in 2024.

The surge in usage underscores the app's growing importance as a central tool for pilgrims worldwide. The Ministry, through the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), confirmed that over 90 per cent of its users are international, originating from more than 190 countries, highlighting the platform’s global reach and its vital role in facilitating Hajj, Umrah, and visitation journeys.

The Nusuk app provides a wide range of services designed to simplify every stage of a pilgrim's journey, from planning to their return. The platform offers over 100 digital services, including the booking of Umrah trips and visits to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah. It also streamlines logistical aspects by offering reservations for the Haramain High-Speed Railway, flights, and hotel accommodations. In a recent expansion, the app has also incorporated daily services such as access to the Holy Quran, prayer times, and Qibla direction, further solidifying its utility as a comprehensive Islamic platform.

The Ministry has indicated that a major update is imminent, which is expected to provide an even more seamless and intuitive user experience. This continuous development effort is part of a broader strategy to position the Nusuk app as the world's leading digital platform for Islamic spiritual journeys. The remarkable growth in its user base reflects a successful effort to integrate modern technology to make the pilgrimage experience more efficient and accessible for a global community.
