Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has called for the arrest of billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk, accusing him of breaching the UK’s Online Safety Act. Speaking after Musk’s controversial appearance at a far-right rally, Davey claimed the Tesla and SpaceX owner had failed to protect children from harmful content on his social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

Davey alleged that X hosts material linked to self-harm, grooming, and child sexual abuse, making Musk “criminally responsible” under new laws. He argued that if Musk enters Britain, authorities should move to detain him.

The comments follow Musk’s incendiary remarks at a rally organised by Tommy Robinson, where he warned of “civil war” in the UK. Downing Street and child-safety groups condemned Musk’s language as “dangerous.”

Ofcom has already launched an investigation into X’s handling of child abuse material, while Musk dismissed Davey’s demands as “ridiculous.”
