Bangladeshi husband sentenced for killing wife in front of her TikTok lover

An "evil" Bangladeshi man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his young Bangladeshi wife in front of her TikTok lover and putting her body into a tributary of the River Thames while hiding inside a suitcase.

A mudlarker discovered a suitcase containing her decaying remains washed up on the riverbed 10 days later.Following a trial, Rahman, previously of Bridgwater in Somerset, was found guilty of murder and assault on Ms. Begum after admitting to preventing her lawful and decent burial.

Suma Begum (24) is a Bangladeshi homemaker. Suma Begum was the mother of a two-year-old son and a two-month-old daughter. Begum is the late Thakur Mia's daughter from Mamunpur village, Jagannathpur upazila, Sunamganj district.

The Old Bailey heard how Aminan Rahman, 46, gaslit, manipulated, financially controlled, and assaulted 24-year-old Suma Begum before murdering her at a flat in east London in front of her two children.

Ms Begum's online boyfriend watched the death via video call from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he lived.

Rahman then packed Ms Begum in a suitcase while she was either dead or unconscious, and was recorded on CCTV discarding the suitcase.

According to sources, killer Amin Al Rahman brought Suma Begum to Britain four years ago.

Suma was Amin's cousin. Amin brought Suma to Britain four years ago as someone else's wife because Amin did not have valid residence papers to bring a spouse to Britain. But since Amin is 45 years old, there has been a conflict between them for the last few years due to various reasons.

As Suma Begum came to Britain as another person's wife, Amin took Suma to a mosque and married her in a mosque, as she did not have the opportunity to legally register her marriage with Amin. Begum's relative Saberin said to her daily dazzling dawn that she was a very good daughter and mother.
