The United Nations Children's and Cultural Organisation UNICEF expressed concern over the violence surrounding the quota movement, stating that at least 32 children had died.

Sanjay Wijesekera, the regional leader of the organisation for South Asia, voiced the concern in a statement on Friday, August 2.

The statement claims that UNICEF has verified that the quota movement in July resulted in the deaths of at least 32 children. Numerous more kids were hurt and taken into custody. Violence in any form is condemned by UNICEF.

The organisation stated that the safety of children must come first, while also expressing condolences and sorrow to the families of the children who were slain. Everyone bears responsibility for it.

In addition, the statement stated that all instances of child incarceration in Bangladesh must terminate in accordance with international human rights treaties and the children's rights charter.

Children and young people should be protected because they are Bangladesh's future, according to UNICEF.
