Saudi Arabia has opened Umrah bookings through the Nusuk app for Muslims planning to undertake the minor pilgrimage during the first two weeks of Ramadan.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the congestion indicator showed moderate reservations for the expected start of the holy month on March 1. However, demand for the first two Fridays of Ramadan has increased, while bookings for other days remain low.

Ramadan is a peak period for Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, with Saudi authorities preparing for a large influx of worshippers. Muslims from within and outside the kingdom travel to perform Umrah and prayers during this sacred month.

The ongoing Umrah season, which runs year-round, began in late June following the conclusion of Hajj. The pilgrimage involves circling the Holy Kaaba seven times (Tawaf) and walking between Safa and Marwah (Sa’i) in the Grand Mosque. Many pilgrims also visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and other significant Islamic sites.
