Amid a meeting with Prime Minister Sheik Hasina on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi nowadays, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman communicated appreciation to Bangladeshi migrants for their contribution to the Saudi economy.
"He mentioned with gratitude that nearly 2.8 million Bangladeshis are making significant contributions to his country's economy with their hard work and due diligence," according to a foreign ministry statement today.
In 1976, Bangladesh formally permitted its citizens to travel to Saudi Arabia, which has since grown to be Bangladesh's largest labour market and a significant source of remittances.
According to the statement, PM Hasina's meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman was very successful.
"Prince Salman praised the Bangladesh prime minister for her inspirational leadership in achieving remarkable socioeconomic development in Bangladesh over the recent years," the foreign ministry said.
Bin Salman said Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia would work together to upgrade participation in all conceivable areas and guaranteed Bangladesh prime minister of his full back in this respect.
Prince Salman communicated his fulfillment with the progressing venture made by Saudi speculators in different ventures in Bangladesh, counting the Patenga terminal, Payra port and ACUWA Renewable Energy project.
