New Executive Committee Formed for Paris-Bangla Press Club France

The leading organization for Bangladeshi journalists residing in France, the Paris-Bangla Press Club France, has formed its new executive committee. Enayet Hossain Sohel, the editor of Tritiyo Bangla newspaper, has been appointed as the president, and Russell Ahmed, the France correspondent for Bangla TV, has been named general secretary. The newly formed executive committee consists of 23 members.

The announcement of the new committee was made during the club's biennial general meeting, held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Aicha Hall in the Paris suburb of Lacarnov.

The meeting was presided over by Shahabuddin Ahmed , the editor of SylhetPedia and Obibashon. During the session, Shibbir Ahmed, a key member of the committee formation sub-committee and a correspondent for Tritiyo Bangla, presented the welcoming remarks.

Library and Publications Secretary: Sadik Tajin

Immigration Affairs Secretary: Hasan Ahmed

Office Secretary: Mohammad Fakhrulzzaman

Information & Technology Secretary: Iqbal Hossain Maruf

Social Services & Hospitality Secretary: Kawser Adil Chowdhury

Executive Members: Shabul Ahmed, Jamil Ahmed Sahed, Yakub Ali Pradhan, Ahmed Jamal, Sheikh Sorwar Jahan.

The proposed new committee was announced by Shabul Ahmed, the head of the Subject Committee.

During the biennial conference, members of the press club outlined various activities and future plans. They emphasized the importance of enhancing the professional standards of journalists, improving the quality of life for immigrants, and organizing seminars on immigrant issues and opportunities. They also discussed creating reports on the challenges and successes of immigrants in the media and taking a thoughtful role in the overall development of both France and Bangladesh.
