As the year progresses and we move closer to summer, temperatures across the UK are steadily rising.
A mini heatwave is expected to hit later this month, bringing scorching weather conditions.
According to WX Charts, temperatures are set to soar on Wednesday, June 18, potentially reaching the upper 20s and even hitting 30°C in some regions. The weather maps show bright orange and red shades, a clear indicator of the incoming heat.
Regions such as the West Midlands, Greater London, Kent, and South Yorkshire are expected to see highs of 30°C. Large parts of central England are forecasted to reach around 27°C, while areas shaded in light red—indicating temperatures between 28°C and 30°C—include over 20 counties.
These counties include Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Surrey, Hampshire, and Norfolk, as well as parts of South Yorkshire.
Looking ahead, the Met Office’s long-range forecast from June 18 to July 2 suggests that high pressure will likely bring mostly dry weather across the UK, particularly in the south.
A Met Office spokesperson noted: “Mid-June is expected to bring predominantly dry weather due to dominant high pressure, especially in southern areas. Toward the end of June and into early July, conditions may become more unsettled, but overall, temperatures are likely to be above average and could occasionally turn hot.”
