As the new Umrah season gains momentum, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is strongly urging pilgrims to cultivate an atmosphere of calmness, patience, and compassion during their spiritual journey. The Ministry's message, shared across its social media platforms, underscores that Umrah transcends mere rituals, serving as a profound spiritual experience demanding mindfulness and mutual respect among all worshippers.
"Umrah is a journey of patience and faith,” the Ministry stated in its awareness message. “Embrace tranquility, treat others with selflessness, so you may be granted ease and divine satisfaction.”
Pilgrims are specifically advised to avoid crowding and jostling, exercise patience when entering and exiting holy sites, and prioritize the elderly. These guidelines are crucial for ensuring the safety and spiritual fulfillment of all who undertake the pilgrimage. The Ministry also emphasized the importance of adhering to regulatory instructions within the Grand Mosque, cooperating with guidance teams, and observing the organized flow of movement. Such adherence, they noted, not only guarantees the safety of worshippers but also upholds the spiritual and moral objectives central to the Umrah pilgrimage.
Umrah Season Sees Significant Visa Issuance and Digital Integration
The current Umrah season officially commenced on June 10, and Saudi Arabia has already issued over 190,000 Umrah visas to international pilgrims since then. Permits for performing Umrah began being issued on June 11, just one day after the season's opening.
A key component in modernizing the pilgrim experience is the Nusuk platform. This digital initiative is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 and aims to streamline various aspects of the pilgrimage. Nusuk allows users to obtain necessary permits, schedule visits to holy sites, and access a comprehensive suite of services designed to make the Umrah journey smoother and more accessible for all. It has been clarified that no Umrah visa will be issued without an approved hotel booking on the Nusuk Masar platform, reinforcing the integrated digital approach.
In efforts to maintain high standards and ensure pilgrim well-being, the Ministry recently announced the suspension of seven Umrah companies due to violations related to transport services. This action highlights the Kingdom's commitment to overseeing the quality of services provided to pilgrims and taking swift action against non-compliant operators.
For citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, an updated policy now allows them to perform Umrah at any time, providing greater flexibility and accessibility for regional pilgrims. This development, alongside the robust digital infrastructure provided by Nusuk, signifies Saudi Arabia's continued efforts to enhance the Umrah experience for a global community of worshippers.
