A new 81-member committee for the UK branch of the M. Saifur Rahman Smriti Parishad has been announced today to commemorate the glorious life of the late former Finance and Planning Minister, M. Saifur Rahman.
The late Saifur Rahman’s eldest son and former Member of Parliament, M. Nasser Rahman, created and approved this committee during his recent visit to the UK, following strong demand from expatriates from the Moulvibazar district living there. An additional 20 members will be added later, expanding the committee to 101 members. The new committee will observe the 16th death anniversary of the late M. Saifur Rahman with due solemnity in London on September 5th.
The new committee has nominated prominent businessman and former President of the British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Saidur Rahman Ranu, as President, and former Moulvibazar District Jubodal President, Adud Alam, as General Secretary. Additionally, Sharifuzzaman Chowdhury Tapan has been nominated as Senior Vice President, Abdul Wahid as Senior Joint General Secretary, and Soyallehin Karim Chowdhury as Organizing Secretary.
