Storm Floris is expected to bring unusually strong winds to the UK on Monday, according to the Met Office.

The most intense gusts—potentially reaching up to 85mph—are likely to hit exposed coastal areas and high ground in Scotland during the afternoon and evening.

A yellow wind warning has been issued for Scotland, Northern Ireland, north Wales, and northern England, in effect from 6am Monday until 6am Tuesday.

Forecasters also warn of heavy rainfall, which could lead to travel disruptions.
