Tarique Rahman to Leave for Umrah; November Bangladesh Return Eyed

Tarique Rahman, the Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is scheduled to leave London with his family on October 20 to perform the holy Umrah pilgrimage. Simultaneously, there is an plan for him to potentially return to Bangladesh in the third week of November after completing the pilgrimage.

This information has been confirmed by multiple close BNP sources in London. The sources state that Tarique Rahman had long desired to perform Umrah. Accordingly, he will depart for Saudi Arabia on October 20 with his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and daughter, Zaima Rahman.

The sources further indicated that if all goes well following his return to London after the Umrah, Tarique Rahman plans to return to Bangladesh in the third week of November.

Meanwhile, many UK BNP leaders who wish to join Tarique Rahman on the Umrah trip have expressed their interest. However, the final list of who will be traveling on the same flight, apart from his immediate family, has not yet been finalized, according to sources.

BNP sources also recalled that Tarique Rahman last visited Saudi Arabia in September 2016 to perform the holy Hajj. At that time, he performed Hajj with his mother, Khaleda Zia, and his family. Prior to that, he had performed Umrah with Khaleda Zia in 2014.

Next month's trip marks Tarique Rahman's return to Saudi Arabia for Umrah after a hiatus of nearly eight years.
