Mahanna son of Moulvibazar achieved special achievement by participating with the final winning team 'Team Astro Thrust' in the 3rd National Satellite Expedition Competition. The competition was held on Saturday, April 20, in the lecture hall of BRAC University.

According to the official Facebook page of IEEE Aerospace and Electronic System Society BRACU Student Branch Chapter, 'Satellite Expedition Competition is a flagship competition. With the participation of talented students from different universities across the country, the competition is held in the process of logically presenting an individual idea and own production plan and important strategies through team leadership. It is the country's largest satellite mission idea competition, where satellite analysis enthusiasts participate. Talented students from universities like IUT, BUET, SAST, BRAC, IIUC participated in the first round of the National Satellite Expedition Competition in 8 teams. Intro to SEC session which is organized once a year by IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society BRACU Student Branch Chapter. It is organized primarily in collaboration with the Laboratory of Space Systems Engineering and Technology-Lasset and in partnership with UNISEC Global and UNISEC Bangladesh. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of future satellites are basically such arrangements.

After a rigorous review process of teams participating in Phase-I, 4 teams were selected for the final round. The final round was held at BRAC University with the two teams selected from there. Through the event, the contestants basically get an opportunity to propose their innovative ideas for satellite missions. Each team has to strengthen their position in the second round by providing a written analysis of research related to the ideas presented in the first round, technical details, orbital data.

Each team had to present their qualifications through a complex question-and-answer session in front of experienced and high-level judges who have experience working in Bangabandhu Satellite-1 and 2 or are still working in order to reach the final round. Where the audience row was also filled with the presence of many talented people.

Chief Engineer of first Bangladeshi Nano Satellite BRAC Onnesha and Lecturer of EEE Department of BRAC University, Director of LASET Abdullah Hil Kafi and Raihana Shams Islam Antara conducted this session excellently. SEC's inaugural session offers a glimpse into the exciting world of satellites.

It is an unforgettable experience for those who attended the event for the first time to explore the competition. The question and answer session between the speakers and the participants adds a different dimension of an engaging and interactive touch.

In the first round of the 3rd National Satellite Expedition Competition organized under the title "COSMATRIX : Connecting the World and Space", 8 teams namely ARONNOK-22, LUX ORBIS, TEAM ASTRO THRUST, GREMLIN, TEAM COSMOS CREW, ETHEREAL LUMINARY, TRIPOD+1, NEBULA NAVIGATORS participated.

Bakhsh Mohammed Mahanna is one of the members of the winning team 'Team Astro Thrust', he is a native of Moulvibazar. He passed SSC from Moulvibazar Government High School and HSC from Moulvibazar Government College, after passing both exams with Golden A plus, he successfully passed entrance exams of various universities including Dhaka University, later at 'Islamic University of Technology (IUT) OIC'. Placed himself as a student of 'Electrical and Electronics Engineering' department with scholarship. Currently he is studying in second year.

'Bakhsh Mohammed Mahanna' is the eldest child of 'Mohammed Wadud Bakhsh and Ismot Ara Munni'. His father is an experienced engineer in the Mechanical Maintenance Department of Kuwait National Petroleum Company. Mahanna grew up and studied in Moulvibazar district headquarters. Which may open another possibility in the near future.

Competitors also demonstrated the process of reconstructing a three-dimensional scene from 20 images by modeling the brightness at each point in space using a neural network.

On the other hand, Cosmos Crew was awarded the title of "First Runner Up" with an excellent performance, the team consisting of Mohsina Tabassum Rifa (CSE'19), Meftahul Jannati Anonna (CSE'21), Fatema Tuz Zohora Moon (CSE'21) & Md. Shithil Islam (EEE'21). The judges were impressed by the dynamic idea presentation of both the teams.

IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society BRAC University Student Branch Chapter, organizer of the SEC competition, considers their initiative to transform energy through command, control and communication systems; intelligent technology; navigation and tracking systems; radar; Robotics; It will bring incredible success in the development of various complex plans and technologies, including automatic testing of space systems. It will also create new momentum for AESS students and encourage them to pursue a career in the field of electronic systems.

When asked about her son's sense of incredible success, Mahanna's mother told DD, "I don't have any dreams of my own, the dreams of my sons and daughters are my dreams.
