Romanian President Ilie Bolojan has reiterated Romania’s commitment to increasing labour recruitment from Bangladesh, recognizing the valuable contributions of Bangladeshi workers to the country’s economy.
During a meeting with Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Romania, Shahnaz Gazi, at the Presidential Palace, Palatul Cotroceni, on February 17, President Bolojan highlighted the strong ties between Bangladesh and Romania and encouraged further business-to-business collaboration.
He assured that steps would be taken to resolve visa-related challenges, making it easier for Bangladeshi workers and students to access Romania.
Ambassador Gazi, who presented her Letters of Credence to the President, was joined by First Secretary (Labour) Mohammad Mohsin Mia and Second Secretary & Head of Chancery Sheikh Kaushik Iqbal.
Additionally, President Bolojan reaffirmed Romania’s dedication to strengthening trade and economic partnerships with Bangladesh.
Ambassador Gazi conveyed greetings from President Mohammad Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, urging Romania to increase the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers. She also called for the reopening of the Romanian Embassy in Dhaka to enhance bilateral exchanges and streamline visa procedures.
