On 21st February 2025, Probashi Odhikar Porishad organized a delightful children’s art exhibition and a captivating cultural program to commemorate International Mother Language Day at St Pancras Community Association, 67 Plender Street, London NW1 0LB. The event, held from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, focused on strengthening community engagement and fostering patriotism among the younger generation.

Around 30 young artists showcased their creativity through paintings and received certificates for their participation. Their involvement, along with collaborative performances with various artists, reflected the organization’s commitment to nurturing national pride and cultural awareness among the next generation.

The event was successfully hosted under the leadership of Cultural Secretary Farhana Choudhury, Sports Secretary Syed Karim (Sayem), and Mr. Amir Ahmed, with a welcome speech delivered by General Secretary Shahed Hossain.

The event was graced by Mayor of Camden, Samata Khatun, as the Chief Guest, with former Mayor of Redbridge, Jusna Islam, Councillor Sha Miah of Camden, Habibur Rahman, and other distinguished community leaders attending as special guests. Their presence reinforced the collective effort to integrate the Bangladeshi community into the broader British society while preserving and promoting cultural heritage.

The event featured patriotic songs and dance performances by various artists, fostering a deep sense of national pride and unity. Such cultural programs play a vital role in connecting the younger generation to their roots and strengthening community solidarity.

Probashi Odhikar Porishad remains committed to advocating for the rights of the diaspora and promoting a positive image of Bangladesh. The organization’s president, Nijam M Rahman, stated, “Our primary goal is to keep the new generation connected to their heritage and culture. At the same time, we aim to further integrate our community within the British mainstream. Showcasing our identity through cultural activities is our responsibility.
